10. An interesting hook that captures attention

For a research paper it is good that you need a really interesting hook that will catch someones eye and attention. Because one you start with a really interesting hook , the research paper will be even better, and you would want to keep reading it more and more , and see what other interesting thing you will read.

9. Double spaced- between Title and first line

For paragraphs it needs to be double-spaced between the title and the first line . To do that it will show you different lines you would want at the top to format it. For the double space it's good so that you can have room at type and for the sentences to have their own space.

8. Title not in caps, underlined, or quoted

When doing the title it should not be in caps, underlined, or quoted because in a formal essay it will not look formal if its in caps or underlined. So that is why you have to have the title normal and not add anything, as long as its in the center it's good because the important part is that you need to see it.

7. Title Centered

The title should be centered so you could see the title better and so that when you read a paper such as in essay you can see the title perfectly because it is in the center and you have to be looking where the title is.

6. Last name and page number in right corner of heading.

Before you do anything you have to right your last name in the corner of the heading and the page number. It is required and important that you put those two things in top right corner.

5. No extra spaces between paragraphs 

Between the paragraphs there shouldn't be extra spaces, because since your already using it double-spaced there shouldn't be any other spaces between the lines. Whenever you write an essay the lines won't be looking so far apart from each other.

4. One inch margins around

The margin is the area between the main content of a page and the page edges. It also helps define where the line of the text begins and ends.

3. Black ink

One of the requirements for the M.L.A format is Black ink. The black ink is required because when you would want to type an essay, the black ink is more formal to read and its more helpful If you use another color rather than black it won't look good, wouldn't be able to read it.

The lines should be double-spaced which is 1/2 inch for each sentence, so that the lines won't look so crushed together, And you could be able to read it.

1.Typed 12-point font, Times New Roman

The first format for M.L.A should be typed in a 12 point format, in Times New Roman. Because whenever you would want to write an essay it looks formal.
